The Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies hosted a conference in celebration of the 60th anniversary of the publication of Liang Fang-Chung's The Single-whip Method of Taxation in China. It was collaboratively conducted by the Centre for Historical Anthropology, Chinese University of Hong Kong-Sun Yat-sen University, and Department of History, Sun Yat-sen University.
