Harvard Global Institute (HGI) hosted a symposium on “Finding Solutions: Climate Change Economics, Policy, and Implications for Business” at Harvard Center Shanghai on November 7, 2017. Leah Rosovsky, Vice President for Strategy and Programs, and Mark C. Elliott, Vice Provost for International Affairs and Mark Schwartz Professor of Chinese and Inner Asian History, warmly welcomed the Harvard alumni and friends, and moderated a panel discussion with two Harvard professors.

Robert N. Stavins, A. J. Meyer Professor of Energy & Economic Development at the Harvard Kennedy School, focused on why the economics of environmental policy are particularly valuable in efforts to address the threat of global climate change. Forest L. Reinhardt, John D. Black Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School, discussed the implications of Professor Stavins’s remarks for today’s business leaders, such as the benefits of using market-based instruments to manage environmental problems, including climate change.
