2018 Perspectives on Chinese Contemporary Music Conference

The 2018 Perspectives on Chinese Contemporary Music Conference was led by Professor Christopher Hasty, the Director of Music Theory at Harvard Music Department at the Harvard Center Shanghai from May 29 to May 30.

The conference aimed to strengthen academic exchanges between Harvard University and Chinese composers and scholars, engaged Chinese and Western composers and theorists to have proactive and multifaced dialogues in the global context. Composers, theorists, and young scholars from the United States, Canada, China, Hong Kong S.A.R., and other countries and regions delivered keynote speeches on different topics of contemporary Chinese music.
