The Harvard Center Shanghai and the School of Social Development and Public Policy at Fudan University organized a lecture by:

Professor Michael Herzfeld, Ernest E. Monrad Professor of the Social Sciences, Harvard Department of Anthropology

Professor Michael Herzfeld is a world-renowned social anthropologist who has published 10 books and numerous articles, and has a wide areas of interest. His current research activity includes completion of a book and a film about historic conservation and eviction in Bangkok and planned new research on Italian-Chinese interactions in Rome and on the profession of town planning in Italy and elsewhere. He is also Affiliated Professor in the Department of Urban Planning and Design and Harvard University Graduate School of Design( GSD), Coordinator for Thai Studies at Harvard University Asia Center, the Interim Director of the Harvard Modern Greek Studies, and the Senior Advisor of the Critical Heritage Initiative at the International Institute for Asian Studies, Leiden (IIAS).
