Harvard Kennedy School China Trek 2014-Shanghai

Harvard Kennedy School (HKS) China Trek 2014 was held from March 15 to 23, 2014. The delegation consisted of 25 delegates, including Professor Steve Kelman from HKS and HKS students. China Trek 2014 took place in Shanghai, Chengdu and Beijing. The delegates visited China’s State Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Commerce, China Development Bank, Sina Corporation, Shanghai Administration Institute, Chengdu Municipal Government, etc.

HKS China Trek has been successfully held for eight years. These communications with various government departments and enterprises have not only provided insights in China for Harvard students, but also made positive impacts for these potential world leaders in their future policy and decision making process regarding China.

The event at the Harvard Center Shanghai started with an one hour panel discussion from 5:30pm – 6:30pm led by Prof. Harry Liu, Deputy Director General of the China Executive Leadership Academy Pudong (CELAP) joined by HKS Prof. Steve Kelman and Prof. Jiang Haishan from the CELAP, followed by an one hour reception from 6:30pm – 7:30pm in the lounge.
