The Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies hosted the International Conference on Cyberinfrastructure for Chinese Studies from March 14 to 16 at Harvard Center Shanghai. It was led by Peter K. Bol, Vice Provost for Advances in Learning and Charles H. Carswell Professor of East Asian Languages and Civilizations at Harvard University. The primary goal of the conference was to identify the key challenges in improving scalability of digital platforms and enabling interoperability between diverse and independent digital systems in this field, as well as to suggest concrete steps which can be made to address these challenges. More than a hundred scholars and delegates from different countries and regions attended.
