Date:

Sunday, December 14, 2014, 1:00pm to 4:30pm

Location:

Harvard Center Shanghai

The Harvard Center Shanghai organized a workshop on how to integrate education and entertainment through the usage of trans-media on December 14, 2014.

A good screenplay, well acted and directed can help immensely. The workshop started with a movie The Watsons Go to Birmingham, 1963. Then Professor Robert L. Selman addressed the question as following: How we can use such entertainment material to promote both the academic growth in youth, for example their deep reading comprehension and historical understanding; and to cultivate the ethical awareness the story allows, for example the capacity for deep self-reflection and an understanding of civic responsibilities.
