The Immersion Experience Program (IXP) maximizes participant-centered learning by integrating HBS’ distinctive case method of instruction with field-based learning.

Professor William C. Kirby and Professor Christopher Marquis led a group of 60 students from Harvard Business School to Shanghai Center for the IXP Course: China; Current Challenges, Future Opportunities Capstone Session.

The goal of this Immersion Experience Program (IXP) was to provide students with insight into key future business opportunities in China that follow from its current economic, political and social challenges. Like the Chinese word for crisis, which famously combines the two characters for "danger" and "opportunity," the course identified business opportunities at a key transition point in the country's business environment.
